The memories, the stories, the photos and the wanting for more of the great Alexander McQueen may never vanish, but there had to come an end to the garments he managed to design before his untimely death- and it has now appeared.
It´s quit striking how this silky swanesque dress made espescially for his long time best friend and model Annabelle Neilson lets him go out with such an elegant bang. There´s nothing alien, dark or funny about it- it´s simply pure decadence.
It was worn at the Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball in June and in my head images of the dancing dress with its 20s/30s reference takes me right into the backyard of Mr. Gatsby admiring his long lost Daisy. It sincerely is an exquisite dress and it could not have been more of a fitting farewell from our great L´Enfant Terrible.
