Loving Colorful Swimsuits!

SUNSHINE LADY
RUISSIAN VOGUE
 MAY 2011
 SHOT BY MARIANO VIVANCO

I´m a big swimsuit fan, even though they´re not as easily worn as one would have thought- especially if lots of colors are involved. But this colorful swimsuit editorial from Russian Vogue makes it look effortlessly. It´s just so well executed from the mix of color, print and animal (big trend this summer), with some 70s nostalgia without having it over-take the shots. I especially love the use of accessories and jackets and the makeup couldn’t be more fitting. I didn´t think I would appreciate the turban back so soon, but in these pics it just seems perfect. The poses are also very interesting, not too sexy and not too artsy. All in all a very pleasant spread filled with inspirational thoughts for personal and professional use. Enjoy!

Love,
Tove

...

Stay just a little longer

may your nights still be long, and your mornings forever sweet

may you still feel the grain
and keep the shore at reach

there will come a day of reality

But may you never forget those feathered dreams

The day will turn to night, just as it always has

but your spirit can still shine, if you let it in

take a minute to feel the warmth

in your own solitude

it´s a good place to be

when summer is free

from the demands of entertaining

but still with the joy of giving

Love,
Tove

A week has wisped by, and I the blog went silent as I went to London for three days, sorry about that, but I did go to fabu-lessly dirty fashion parties with free drinks and food and Amy Winehouse, so I'm not THAT sorry... Anyways, these pics caught my eye this week and heres why:

FAVORITE SWIMWEAR PART II

DESIGNER SWIMWEAR......YUMMY!

If its worth the money or not is entirely up to you, but for 2 minutes lets take in some well design swimwear that could end up being your favorite statement pieces this summer and for many to come. These are obviusly not for swimming in its true sence. No, no- these luxury items only serve a purpose as design candy and wardrobe spritzer.
And they are all from Net-a-porte of course.

You don't get more on trend then with this flowery peice from jets by jessika allen 194 €. Style it up with a nude tones maxi skirt or high waisted light denim shorts.

It's been all about the nudes this summer, and all though you better have a milky-white skin tone or a very tanned one to pull this suit off on its own on the beach- it just looks so damn good if you do. emilio pucci 447 €

The sunset colors, the animal/tribal prints and the sporty cut all just screams summer 2010. So sexy on the beach, so funky at the club and even classy with a pair of 40's styled long pants and that oversized hat from every Poirot movie. Even better, it's made by the very queen of chic,  diane von furstenberg 284 €.

The halterneck and balconett decoltage is the most flattering cut any woman can have. The print is modern Missoni all the way and the bows on the side gives a small hip downsizing. It's just so classic! missoni 582

Obviously, the bikini is the easiest choice for the beach, but not as wearable for night. This psychadelic two piece however, is the perfect style of underwear as outerwear (even though I will get back on how I feel about that trend later) so the top goes really well on its own for those of you comfertable with that. And if you are, I say more power to you- I love it! mathew williamson 236 €

Mission impossible did you say? no, no- a leather swim suit is absolutely possible! Could you imagine walking out of the water in this? How sexy is that!? Ok, so it's not really leather so much as it is rubber, but thats a given I hope. lisa marie fernandes511 €

COLOR ME TANNED!

Every Tuesday I will introduce a favorite beauty product of mine and today I am starting with the Face Tan.

As a rather pale red head, even though I’m not all that bothered by it, I can still see the benefits of a little color come summer. Now, my body I can get up to sort of a golden red tan with my SPF 15, but my face I will always keep sun blocked with SPF 50 to shun those nasty sun damaged wrinkles. But this tends to result in a rather color less mask, keeping my head detached from my body.

It must be said: I think most self tanner are dreadful. They usually end up in an orange looking color only intended for mandarins and various other fruits. Gradual tanners I like, but sometimes a girl needs a little instant effect. I have tried, written about and gathered test panels of blue eyes friends in my days to find one that actually works in a satisfying i.e. no orange streaks in sight, way. And I am happy to say, that my favorite by far is the Garnier Ambre Solaire Face No Trace Bronzer Self Tanning Spray. Easy to use, and can only be messed up if you over exaggerate the usage.

How to:

Spray lightly over a clean face, move the can from side to side starting at your forehead and continue spraying down to your chest. This way your neck, upper arms and chest will get some color as well. For my skin I choose the lightest tone. You can do two rounds if you already have some color, but trust the product to do its job and apply more the following day if you still want a darker shade. The color will start to show after an hour and be complete after about 8. It dries in 10 minutes, so it’s perfect before bedtime and I have even put it on over light make-up and gone out the house without having any problems with that- just a gradual glow growing on me during the day.
