Knightly romance from FANNIE SCHIAVONI

The first time I stumbled over the designs of Fannie Schiavoni during London Fashion Week for Fall 2010, my heart must have dropped an inch or two. I was moved and shaken down to my core and every fashion fiber in my body screamed: YES!
The Swede had a very shy and humble charisma, which suited me well as I was still in aw from taking in her statement jewelry pieces lined up quite simply on hangers and 3 white dress forms..

“Renowned for her original signature chain accessories, Fannie’s focus is on durable, hard wearing materials and distinctive designs. Her Scandinavian background brings a love for anything clean and structural. She works with muted colors to keep the focus on the shape and design of her pieces.” – www.fannieschiavoni.com
Rhianna must have fallen in love with the chains as well, as she wears nothing put them in her opening scenes for her new video 'Rockstar' as well as a neckpiece during her Slash interpretation.

The only Scandinavian shop with the Newgen award winners’ statement pieces is Freudian Kicks in Oslo, Norway as well as selling at different locations in the Uk, the Usa and Japan.
However, these online shops should have the romantically knighted pieces in stock:

The photos will really speak louder than my words…

Love,
Tove

The double-denim take of miss Hanneli...

www.hanneli.com

Fabulous double-denim by Norwegian model, stylist MTV VJ and blogger Hanneli on her own blog www.hanneli.com on sunday and then again on www.jakandjil.com yesterday. Without a doubt one of the most successful takes on this somewhat troublesome trend. Read all about theJOUTFIT// <- here.

COLOR ME TANNED!

Every Tuesday I will introduce a favorite beauty product of mine and today I am starting with the Face Tan.

As a rather pale red head, even though I’m not all that bothered by it, I can still see the benefits of a little color come summer. Now, my body I can get up to sort of a golden red tan with my SPF 15, but my face I will always keep sun blocked with SPF 50 to shun those nasty sun damaged wrinkles. But this tends to result in a rather color less mask, keeping my head detached from my body.

It must be said: I think most self tanner are dreadful. They usually end up in an orange looking color only intended for mandarins and various other fruits. Gradual tanners I like, but sometimes a girl needs a little instant effect. I have tried, written about and gathered test panels of blue eyes friends in my days to find one that actually works in a satisfying i.e. no orange streaks in sight, way. And I am happy to say, that my favorite by far is the Garnier Ambre Solaire Face No Trace Bronzer Self Tanning Spray. Easy to use, and can only be messed up if you over exaggerate the usage.

How to:

Spray lightly over a clean face, move the can from side to side starting at your forehead and continue spraying down to your chest. This way your neck, upper arms and chest will get some color as well. For my skin I choose the lightest tone. You can do two rounds if you already have some color, but trust the product to do its job and apply more the following day if you still want a darker shade. The color will start to show after an hour and be complete after about 8. It dries in 10 minutes, so it’s perfect before bedtime and I have even put it on over light make-up and gone out the house without having any problems with that- just a gradual glow growing on me during the day.

HILARY RHODA- The classic fashion beauty

After staring in ads for brands such as Hollister and Abercrombie it was easy to see the American model Hilary Rhoda as just another pretty model. In a time where models were to have more strange looking and sometimes 'alienesque' features to go along with their extreme beauty (Mariacarla Boscono, Sasha Pivovarova and Lily Donaldson), Rhoda was without a doubt a successful model, but I myself never saw her as a very interesting face. With her campaigns for Estée Lauder, her intense beauty became more apparent and she was instantly compared to a young Brook Shields. But after seeing these photos in British Harpers Bazaar July 2010 and Italian Elle May 2010 I am impressed and definitely paying more attention. The Harpers Bazaar is still very clean, but mesmerizing at the same time while the Elle edition shows her range and motivation very well. Now I would just love to see her in a full blown Anna Sui meets Alexander McQueen and Phillip Lim type of styling to get that commercial face with the edgy styling to boot!

I WANT TO WEAR JASON WU RESORT 2011 NOW!

Sometimes a designer just seems to feed you the exact pieces you feel you’re missing from your wardrobe a year to early, in this case Jason Wu has done just that. At his New York fashion show on June 4th he nailed the orang-red tone I want so badly as the fringes that were the perfect mix of punk and romantic (when styled in that direction). The oversized parisian bow ties, subtle yet big floral prints and the boy meets girl to perfection. Sadly it won't be out till next year, so until then let's just admire the photos from style.com together (and pretend that I could actually ever afford to buy it).

Sex in the City II- Oh the Glitter!

It's done, I have seen the movie we've been waiting for and reading crap reviews about for ages now and WOW! So let’s put something straight. If you love the series and the Girls, you WILL love this movie. Not for the somewhat thin story line or the fact that they're hardly in New York, but because us fans that have watched those episode several times a year, often one episode per night, we really care about what happens to those girls. And yes, that is terribly geeky, but I am just such a true SATC enthusiast to the core, and no desert sands in Abu Dhabi can stop me from it. And girls...let me tell you.....the guys are..So...hot! The fashion is humerous, though not the best from Fields, but the movie is so over the top in everything from the diamond Louboutins to the marble palace that the styling couldn't have been anything but this. All in all, a very happy girl going to bed in a hot Oslo summer night

IN CARRIES CLOSET

Simply because I'm going to see Sex & The City II today with my girls (dinner at YaYa's first) I simply most post some of my favoirte Carrie Bradshaw atiers. Some because their just so hot, and others because they changed fashion at the time. Let me know what you think- Enjoy!

Welcome in to Carries Closet!
The thigh high socks did it all

That opening dress ...

The pastell 70s look blew me away, and the hair was immaculate!

Oh the colors of this ensamble! Even though she got shot down by
a guy in the rain, she was so vibrant it didn't matter. Long live humor in fashion!

Ghetto Ho-down in Heels, nice!

Oh the nudes...who here does nudes better than Carrie Bradshaw- it's just so good!

Pack on them jewels and let the world follow - Audrey Hepburnesque

Im sure this is everyones favorite, how can it not be? In Paris,
elongating monochromes and rose bud shape.

The Naked Dress....

ah, the LA chicness

Now, this is where we get serious. This is where I really saw the humor and cleverness in Patricia Fields fashion and my eyes were eyes wide open from here out. Tiara bandana, bling, broche and princess dres...aiaia... As I say: Less is more, but more is better! (patent pending)

Love the dress that has got to be a Halson Herritage and the Christian Louboutin Mary Janes!

I'm off to see the new movie now, and I'll express my feelings on it later ;)
Love,
Tove
